Description
Vienna, the capital of Austria, has long been regarded as the 'World Capital of Music,' having been home to more famous composers than any other city, including Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss. Situated on the banks of the Danube, Vienna was for centuries the seat of the Holy Roman Empire and later the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This imperial legacy is visible in the grand Ringstrasse boulevard and the Schönbrunn Palace. Vienna is also consistently ranked as one of the world's most livable cities due to its high density of green spaces, efficient public transit, and unique social housing model. It is the only national capital in the world with a significant wine-growing industry within the city limits. Furthermore, Vienna is a 'bridge' city between East and West; it is one of the four official seats of the United Nations and hosts numerous international organizations like OPEC and the IAEA, maintaining a policy of perpetual neutrality in global conflicts.
