Brazil
Description
Brazil is the giant of South America, occupying nearly 50% of the continent's total land area. Because of its massive central sprawl, it shares a border with almost every other country in South America. Specifically, it borders 10 different nations: Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, French Guiana (France), Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela. The only two South American countries that do *not* share a border with Brazil are Chile and Ecuador. This geographical dominance makes Brazil a central hub for continental trade, migration, and environmental policy, particularly regarding the Amazon Rainforest, which it shares with several of its many neighbors.
