The country is dominated by the Atlas Mountains, which run from the southwest to the northeast, separating the fertile coastal zones from the Sahara Desert. Morocco is the world's largest exporter of phosphates and has a diverse economy. It is also home to the Sahara's largest sand dunes, such as Erg Chebbi.
