Description
Denmark is a Nordic country in Northern Europe, consisting of the Jutland Peninsula and an archipelago of 443 named islands, the largest being Zealand and Funen. It is the southernmost of the Scandinavian countries, bordered by Germany to the south. Copenhagen, the capital, is located on the island of Zealand. The terrain is mostly flat with fertile plains and sandy coasts, and the highest point, Møllehøj, is only 170 meters above sea level. Denmark controls the Danish Straits, which connect the North Sea to the Baltic Sea, making it a strategically important maritime nation. The country also includes the autonomous territories of the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Denmark is known for its high level of social equality, its design culture, and for being the home of the LEGO Group. The climate is temperate, with windy winters and cool summers.
