While Switzerland has no 'constitutional' capital, Nauru is often cited as the only country in the world with no official capital city at all. Nauru is a tiny island nation in Micronesia and is the world’s smallest island republic. Because the entire island is only about 8 square miles, it has no large urban centers. The government offices and the parliament are located in the Yaren District, which serves as the de facto administrative center, but Yaren is a district rather than a city. Nauru is so small that it doesn't even have a single traffic light. This lack of an official capital is a unique administrative quirk of one of the world's most remote nations.
