Description
The concept of a 'quadripoint'—a point where the borders of four countries meet—is very rare. For a long time, it was believed that the African countries of Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe met at a single point in the Zambezi River. However, modern GPS mapping has shown that there are actually two distinct 'tripoints' separated by about 150 meters. While they are incredibly close, they do not technically meet at a single point. This area is now home to the Kazungula Bridge, which connects Botswana and Zambia across the river, bypassing Zimbabwe and Namibia. Despite the technicality, it remains the only place in the world where four sovereign nations come within a few hundred feet of a single point.
