In 1995, Pixar’s 'Toy Story' became the first-ever feature-length film created entirely with computer-generated imagery (CGI). It was a massive blockbuster, grossing $373 million. While Disney had dominated animation for decades with hand-drawn techniques, 'Toy Story' changed the industry’s preference overnight. It proved that CGI could tell a warm, human (and toy) story with incredible depth and texture. The success led to the 'CGI era' of animation, as almost every major studio abandoned hand-drawn features in favor of 3D modeling. Pixar became a powerhouse, and Steve Jobs, who owned the company, became a billionaire when it went public shortly after the film's release.
