Description
The Chicago-based pop-punk band Fall Out Boy famously let their audience name them. During one of their early shows at a local university, the band asked the crowd for name suggestions as they didn't have one yet. A fan shouted out 'Fallout Boy!', the name of the superhero sidekick to Radioactive Man from the animated TV show 'The Simpsons.' The band members, being fans of the show, immediately adopted it. Years later, the band actually appeared on 'The Simpsons' during the end credits of the episode 'Lisa the Drama Queen.' Despite their massive success with hits like 'Sugar, We're Goin Down,' the band members admit they originally thought the name was just a temporary fix.
