In 'The Interpretation of Dreams,' he argued that dreams are the 'royal road' to the unconscious. Freud developed the 'talking cure' (psychoanalysis), which involves patients speaking freely about their thoughts to uncover hidden conflicts. He categorized the human psyche into the Id (primal instincts), the Ego (rational self), and the Superego (moral conscience). While many of his theories are no longer standard practice, his insights into human psychology have profoundly influenced art, literature, and culture worldwide.
