Description

On 1 June 1880, Afghan forces began a confrontation with British-aligned troops in the Shaykan region during the Second Anglo-Afghan War. The clash formed part of wider resistance movements against foreign intervention. Afghan local commanders sought to slow British advances toward key central regions. Although smaller than major battles in the war, the engagement reflected growing Afghan determination to resist foreign presence. The conflict contributed to the gradual shift in momentum that later favored Afghan independence negotiations.
