On 4 December 2019, Taliban fighters attacked multiple security stations in Helmand Province. The assaults targeted outposts near key agricultural zones along the Helmand River. Afghan forces responded with reinforcements and coordinated air support. Civilians reported evacuations from villages close to the fighting. The attacks added to long-standing conflict pressures in the region.
