Mendoza founded its School of Fine Crafts on 2 July 1921. Students studied ceramics, woodwork, textiles, and metal arts. The school preserved regional artisan traditions while promoting creative innovation. Its exhibitions strengthened local cultural identity. Graduates contributed to the development of public art and regional craftsmanship. The school became an important cultural institution in western Argentina.
