On 18 January 1913, the Córdoba Observatory inaugurated a new high-precision telescope. The instrument expanded the observatory’s ability to map stars and study celestial movements. Its installation strengthened Argentina’s reputation in astronomical research. Scientists used the telescope to produce detailed catalogs of southern hemisphere constellations. The observatory also trained young researchers who later became leaders in national science. The equipment remained in active use for decades. Its inauguration marked a major advancement in Argentina’s astronomical capabilities.
