Córdoba’s first telegraph office opened on 3 February 1870. The project connected the city with major communication lines. Telegraph operators transmitted messages that supported business, government, and personal correspondence. The new technology reduced delays in long-distance communication. Its installation supported economic development by strengthening regional links. The office later expanded as telegraph lines spread through the interior. The event marked a significant step in Argentina’s technological modernization.
