On 16 September 1976, during Argentina’s last military dictatorship, security forces abducted a group of high school students in La Plata. The students had been active in campaigns for reduced bus fares and were targeted as part of broader repression against youth activism. Many were tortured, and only a few survived. The event became a symbol of state violence against young people. Memorials held each year honor the victims. It remains one of the most widely recognized human rights violations of the dictatorship era.
