Chaco opened its Institute of Folk Music on 29 September 1930. The institute documented regional rhythms, instruments, and traditional songs. Musicians taught workshops and performed for local audiences. The institute played a major role in preserving northern Argentina’s musical heritage. Exhibits strengthened public appreciation for cultural traditions. Its founding became a milestone in regional cultural development.
