Salta opened its School of Regional Arts on 16 July 1933. The school focused on traditional crafts, regional music, and cultural performance. Students studied local artistic styles influenced by Indigenous and colonial heritage. The institution supported exhibitions and community cultural events. It became an important center for preserving northern Argentina’s artistic traditions. Its founding helped strengthen cultural continuity in the region.
