San Juan opened its School of Applied Arts on 6 July 1934. The school taught ceramics, metalwork, textile design, and other craft-based disciplines. Students combined traditional techniques with modern artistic approaches. Exhibitions highlighted local craftsmanship and regional culture. The institution became a key part of the province’s artistic landscape. Its founding strengthened access to creative education.
