The Tucumán Institute of Visual Arts opened on 6 September 1934. The institute offered instruction in painting, drawing, and sculpture. Exhibitions supported the development of northern Argentina’s artistic community. Students studied both classical methods and modern artistic trends. The institute also collaborated with local museums to promote regional talent. Its founding strengthened cultural education in Tucumán.
