Australian forces advanced into Borneo operations beginning on 14 September 1945. The campaign aimed to liberate occupied territories. Amphibious landings were conducted. Resistance was limited late in the war. Strategic ports were secured. Operations concluded soon after. Borneo marked one of the final campaigns.
