On 4 May 1914, Australian Red Cross operations expanded rapidly. Medical aid was prepared for wartime needs. Volunteer networks grew nationwide. Blood donation programs followed later. Humanitarian assistance became organized. The Red Cross played a vital role. It remains active today.
