One of the deadliest landslides in Canadian history occurred in the District of Alberta. Approximately 82 million tons of limestone fell from Turtle Mountain, burying a portion of the town of Frank. The slide lasted only 90 seconds, killing between 70 and 90 people and leaving a permanent scar on the Crowsnest Pass landscape.
