Description

Trans-Canada Air Lines (TCA), the predecessor of Air Canada, was created by an Act of Parliament. The new airline was intended to provide air service across Canada, linking distant regions. It began as a small operation but became the country’s national carrier over time. The creation of TCA supported faster mail, freight, and passenger travel in a growing country. It also played an important role in building Canada’s transportation network before and after the Second World War.
