Description

On 11 November 1969, the Afghan National Library introduced its first modern cataloging system to better manage its growing book and manuscript collections. Librarians adopted standardized classification methods and trained staff on new archival procedures. The update made rare materials more accessible to researchers and students. It also reduced the risk of misplacing valuable documents. The system later supported digitization efforts that began in the following decades.
