Salta opened its Institute of Regional Design on 19 November 1933. The institute explored design traditions shaped by Andean, Indigenous, and criollo influences. Students studied architecture, textiles, and visual arts. Exhibitions helped promote regional identity. Researchers used the institute’s resources to study cultural symbolism. Its founding enriched artistic education in northern Argentina.
