Brazil enacted Law No. 11.343/2006, commonly called the Lei de Drogas (Drug Law). The law established the National System of Public Policies on Drugs (SISNAD) and set out national measures for prevention, treatment, and social reintegration of users and dependents. It also defined crimes and penalties related to unauthorized production and illicit trafficking of drugs, creating a unified federal framework for drug policy and enforcement.
