On July 7, 2025, the 17th BRICS Summit concluded in Rio de Janeiro under Brazil’s presidency of the group. Leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and newly admitted member states participated in the meetings. The summit focused on global governance reform, economic cooperation, and development financing. Brazil used the event to emphasize South–South cooperation and multilateral diplomacy. Discussions also addressed climate change, infrastructure investment, and digital development. Hosting the summit reinforced Brazil’s role as a diplomatic leader among emerging economies.
