The municipality of Anápolis was officially established in the state of Goiás, Brazil. The city developed from a settlement known as Santana das Antas, which had grown around agriculture and cattle trade. Its formal establishment marked an important step in regional administration and urban organization. Anápolis later became a key commercial and transportation hub in central Brazil. The arrival of the railway in the early 20th century accelerated its economic growth.
