Brazil enacted Law No. 8,313, which created the National Program for Cultural Support (PRONAC). This is widely known as the Lei Rouanet. The law set a federal framework to encourage and finance cultural projects. It established mechanisms for cultural support, including incentives that help channel funding into approved cultural activities. The program became a major pillar of Brazil’s cultural policy and cultural funding system.
