Law No. 8,142, which strengthened community participation in the Unified Health System (SUS). It set rules for participation bodies, such as health councils and conferences, within SUS governance. The law also addressed intergovernmental transfers of health funds among the Union, states, the Federal District, and municipalities. This helped standardize how health resources flow through the SUS system.
