Canada and the United States signed the Agreement Concerning Automotive Products, commonly called the Auto Pact. The deal reduced tariffs and other barriers on cars and auto parts traded between the two countries. It helped create a more integrated North American auto market by encouraging specialization and larger-scale production. Over time, it reshaped where vehicles and parts were made and how supply chains worked across the border.
