Joe Clark was chosen to lead the Progressive Conservative Party. He was only 36 years old at the time. In 1979, he won the election and became Prime Minister. He was 39 years old, which made him the youngest person to ever lead Canada. His time as leader was short, but he is remembered for his long career in government and his work with other countries.
