Canada’s federal criminal ban on “conversion therapy” came into force on this date. The law created new Criminal Code offences tied to causing someone to undergo conversion therapy, promoting or advertising it, and profiting from it. It also added an offence for taking a minor out of Canada to receive conversion therapy.
